Happy New Year!

A new year calls for introductions! My name is BayLeigh, but you can call me Bay; and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I’m a social media manager and content strategist at the intersection of storytelling, pop culture, marketing, and advocacy. My hobbies include crafting, reading, writing, and watching films or television. As a lifelong member of fandoms, I enjoy chatting about books and films as well as how these stories reflect or influence our reality. This passion for storytelling impacted my academic research during undergrad at Transylvania University. I often think about the amazing projects I created with the support of incredible faculty; I'm very proud of the work I created during undergrad. My professors encouraged me to explore what I was passionate about and create projects beyond the traditional essay medium.

I love social media marketing and finding new creative outlets! I launched my Instagram @BayLeighCreates as a blog to share my projects and as a creative outlet for these passions/interests. I’m experienced strengthening marketing strategies by managing social media profiles, analyzing key performance indicators, designing engaging content or documents, and launching other creative initiatives. Curious by nature, I strive to learn more about the world and the unique story everyone has to share. This curiosity fuels my passion for social media marketing and content creation. I'm very fortunate that my leaders at my full-time job and ways to fuel my passion for creativity. You can explore my marketing portfolio and stay tuned for any upcoming projects!

As a project manager at Ruggles Sign, I manage over a hundred ongoing projects simultaneously while ensuring all are completed within budget in a timely manner. I'm accountable for managing the lifecycle of all projects including acquiring customer or landlord approvals, negotiating pricing, securing permits, and coordinating install. I also assist with social media and marketing initiatives while retaining my primary role as a project manager. This year I designed several documents and holiday cards (shown below). Almost every week I posted completion photos from sign installs, manufacturing behind-the-scenes footage, and photos from visits and tours of our facility on the company's LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.

From August to October 2023, I worked with the Lexington Sporting Club, a USL League One professional soccer team, during their inaugural season. I managed and submitted a spreadsheet to the league for broadcasters to announce sponsors during home games. I often helped with hospitality activities in the Owners' Suite where I serve club owners and VIP ticket holders. I supported other hospitality events and community outreach activities; for example, I managed a booth at a Back-to-School Night during the first game I worked. I wore many different hats with the club and I'm beyond grateful to have played a small role in the Lexington Sporting Club's inaugural season! In November 2023, I accepted a board member position with The Railbirds, the official Lexington Sporting Club supporters group. As the Community Work Lead, I organize community outreach events and volunteer opportunities for fans. I'm excited to join this board and connect with other local soccer fans.

I also serve on the board for two nonprofits: Access Language Solutions and the Kentucky Interpreter & Translator Association. For nearly four years, I've volunteered as a nonprofit board member with Access Language Solutions; in this role, I review or approve plans for reorganization or growth as well as develop our marketing strategies. As a former AmeriCorps VISTA with the Kentucky Interpreter & Translator Association, I'm experienced at leading fundraisers, facilitating registrations, building donor relations, coordinating major events, designing surveys, and cultivating community partnerships. Therefore, I have a very strong understanding of the importance of capacity building and the administrative responsibilities needed to manage a nonprofit. You can learn more about my nonprofit experience and year-of-service as an AmeriCorps VISTA by reading the latest on my blog.

If you've read this far, thank you for following along on my creative journey! In 2023, I wrote and published blog posts almost every week; I designed some amazing content and worked with some great people. I’m eager to collaborate with other like-minded, enthusiastic creators (of all disciplines) to make a change—the digital way. Interested in learning more about me, or how we can collaborate on an upcoming project? Maybe you're ready to elevate your marketing and take your brand to the next level. Whatever it is, I'm excited to hear what you've got up your sleeve.
