Cheers to the Club's first win of the season!! On Friday night, Yannick Yankam scored the game winning goal around the eightieth minute mark in the second match. Yannick is a mid-fielder and new to the team this season; he joined the club after most recently playing for Birkirkara FC in the Maltese Premier League. The crowd went wild, and it was great to see how excited the team was too. After tying the first match, it was awesome to secure a win and build everyone's excitement (fans and players alike).
The following day the lads celebrated with the Pope at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade! The Lexington Sporting Club's Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator Emily Fields coordinated their appearance. With little time to plan and coordinate, the event went very well and the players were able to engage with their community. Connecting with and getting involved in the community is very important to the Club's leaders. I was excited to assist during the event and I was happy to see the community's reaction.
