Celebrate in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™

The holidays are full of excitement and fun! For me the best way to celebrate the holidays is in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort! This year the holiday celebration takes place from November 12, 2022 to January 1, 2023. The entire resort is transformed with decorations and amazing traditions. There are many opportunities to commemorate many holiday traditions. Here are 4 ways you can celebrate in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort.

1. Drink Loads of Butterbeer

For many years, hot Butterbeer was a rare delicacy reserved only for the holiday season at the end of the year. Recently, however, hot Butterbeer became a special treat available year round.

2. Enjoy Special Shows in Both Parks

Throughout the year, there are a variety of shows guests can watch. For the winter holidays, there are a few special shows you can enjoy in the Wizarding World. At Hogsmeade in Islands of Adventure, you can watch The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle—a dazzling lights show happening most nights beginning at dusk. You can also watch the frog choir in Hogsmeade.

When you're wandering Diagon Alley, be sure to pause and catch a performance by Celestina Warbeck and the Banshees! Known as the Singing Sorceress in the Wizarding World, Celestina Warbeck performs four of her greatest hits from her Christmas album titled Nothin’ Like a Holiday Spell. The music is calypso-inspired, which is a style of Jamaican dance music that became very popular in the 1940s and 1950s .Calypso is characterized by highly rhythmic and harmonic vocals. It combines Jamaican mento with Caribbean calypso and American jazz, rhythm, and blues.

3. Admire the Holiday Decorations

While sipping on a hot Butterbeer, you can marvel at the beautiful decorations that fill Hogsmeade Village or Diagon Alley. Twinkling lights, beautiful wreaths, and more are sprinkled throughout both sections. What really makes Christmas at the Wizarding World so special is that each shop is filled to the brim with individualized decor. This makes exploring each section a must for Potterheads because a quick glance might cause you to mess something special! Whether it's Honeydukes in Hogsmeade or Ollivanders Wand Shop in Diagon Alley, every shop has unique Christmas decorations. For example, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes has fireworks interwove into the garland, while Spindlewarps has a wreath festooned with giant balls of yarn.
